Kohima, October 24 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) and Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) concluded a leadership transition, with Kezha Angami being “democratically elected” as the Kedahge (President) during a Tatar Hoho Session held at Oking, Kohima on October 10.
In what was described as “first time in the history of the FGN,” the position of the Kedahge was contested. The other positions were filled by unanimous decision, with Thangou Khiamniungan elected as Kedallo (Vice President), Kenyuseng Kemp as Tatar Hoho Speaker, and Heno Lushing as Deputy Speaker.
The newly elected leadership was formally installed on October 23 in a swearing-in ceremony at Oking. A new team was sworn in for various posts and portfolios.
The newly appointed officials are Gen (Retired) Viyalie Metha as Advisor to the FGN; Lhouvitsü Kesiezie as Nsa Midan (Chief Justice); V. Phutoi Zhimomi as Kilo Kilonser (Home Minister); Capt. (Retired) Yirei Lungleng as Rali Wali Kilonser (Information and Publicity Minister); and Akho Meru as Alee (Foreign) cum Infrastructure and Development Kilonser. Further appointments include Kekhwechü Lasuh as Deputy Chaplee Kilonser (Deputy Finance Minister); Pretso Khutso as Homaki Kilonser (Education Minister); and Dazü Ramai as Shenta Kilonser (Communication Minister).
