Kohima, Dec 16 (MExN): One person was shot dead by unidentified person (s) at MLA Hostel junction, Kohima on Saturday morning at around 10:20 am. Police sources said the deceased has been identified as L Palang Khiamniungan, Education Kilonser of FGN.
Police said Palang, son of Lemtsi of Nokhu Village, Tuensang district, is around 50 years and presently residing at Transit Peace Camp, Mission Compound, Kohima village. The victim bore two bullet injuries on the head and chest, Police said.
Meanwhile in a condemnation note, Gaibon Panmei Deputy Rali-Wali Kilonser of the FGN termed as shocking for every Naga that at this Christmas season another Naga leader was killed by the NSCN (IM) group in the heart of Kohima town.
“This crime committed again while the Naga Mother Association (NMA) and NBCC efforts for healing and reconciliation with the slogan ‘shed no more blood’ is once more put to pits”, the FGN stated. While pointing out that such killing can never be a victory for those who have committed the crime, the FGN stated that this will not be forgotten by the Naga people or hidden from God.
