FGN requests caution

Dimapur, June 10 (MExN): The FGN has requested the NSCN (IM) to recall a number of the latter’s  armed  cadres said to be ‘roaming’ in “Khiamniungan region” since May 28. The FGN said in a note today that all the ‘political’  groups had committed to “restrain themselves” in the cause of reconciliation. “At this juncture, with the ongoing  reconciliation process in Nagaland, all the different political groups had agreed and committed to restrain themselves, so as not to derail the reconciliation process. However, contrary to this principle, around 30 to 40 cadres of NSCN (IM) are roaming in Khiamniungan Region in uniform with full arms in combat gesture since May 28, 2010,” said the note from “midan  peyu” of Khiamniungan region K. Langkhang.

Cautioning against confrontation, the FGN said “the antagonistic action of the NSCN (IM)  is  only  going to invite armed conflict   again.” No particular group should  take  advantage of the reconciliation process to achieve their political ends, it stated. To avoid “confutation,” the note said,  “we request the NSCN (IM) government to recall its cadres immediately. The Forum for Naga Reconciliation also needs to adopt necessary measures by learning their bitter truth and the consequences that would follow this.” The FGN calls to honor the joint declaration of Mr. Isac Chishi Swu, Chairman NSCN/GPRN, Mr. Khaplang, Chairman GPRN/NSCN and Brig (Retd) S Singnya, President FGN/NNC.
