Dimapur, June 13 (MExN): The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN), Sumi Region, today washed its hands off from the controversial killing of one Nishena of Ighanumi village on May 21 by some alleged FGN cadres, which has attracted much criticism and condemnation of the FGN by different sections of the society. A press release issued by the Finance Secretary cum Midan Peyu, Sumi Region, V Phutoi Zhimomi stated that the village leaders and Boghoboto GBs, who were officially invited on June 6 to come to meet the Midan Peyu on June 13, came and met the FGN leader today. V Phutoi Zhimomi, in his release, said that he has clarified to the concerned leaders that the murder of Nishena was committed by ‘Obed Sumi and Tokogha’ who are not from the NNC/FGN organisation but were anti-national groups and criminals. Zhimomi said that he clearly told the village leaders and GBs that the FGN has its own Yehazabo (Constitution) on which the FGN is formed and its president elected.
“Therefore, do not be confused with the notorious people who are forming their own government when they got three or four assault Rifles,” said Zhimomi to the village leaders and added that what the criminals are doing is only demanding money from the innocent people for their interest and not for the people’s or national interest.
Zhimomi disclosed that the village leaders and GBs ‘understood the case clearly’, besides that Zhimomi said that he had a nice time with the concerned village leaders discussing about ‘national affairs’. “So, now the truth they (the village leaders and GBs) know, which is good for our Sumi people at large,” Zhimomi added.
