Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today said that as of now, by the grace of God, Nagaland state does not have serious case of COVID-19 for which there should not be panic and there should not be wrong information to create fear in the minds of the people.
“If we unitedly fight as team Nagaland we will win the battle and defeat COVID 19,” Rio said while addressing a press conference here today.
Rio said that out of 177 COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland, 92 persons were recovered as on June 15 with recovery rate at 52%.
Stating that 85% of the cases are asymptomatic, Rio said that nobody is in mild, nor moderate, nor severe and nor critical in ICU.
“No nobody is on oxygen. Nobody is on ventilator,” he said.
Rio said that the age range from 17- 44 and they are healthy for which the recovery is fast.
He thanked the frontline workers supported by the churches and NGOs for doing a good job and working hard day and night to take care of the returnees.
The chief minister informed that the testing capacity has been increased to 600 per day as on June 15.
On being asked on the status of Judicial Inquiry Committee report on Tuensang incident, Rio said the Committee is expected to submit the report by this evening or tomorrow.
“They said that they will not ask for time extension,” Rio said.
He said that 4,612 migrant workers have left the state. Yet, fortunately, 13, 226 people have arrived the state from different parts of the country and for which they should take over the jobs in the state.
He said the state government is going to impart training and motivate them so that “ we build up our economy.”
