Dimapur, April 12 (MExN): The Final Publication of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) Photo Electoral Roll was unveiled on April 12 with the qualifying date set as January 1, 2024. The publication event was held at the Office of the Administrator and Electoral Registration Officer in Dimapur, in the presence of Imtijungla, EAC, Dimapur and representatives from various political parties, stated a DIPR report.
During the event, W Manpai Phom, NCS, Administrator and Electoral Registration Officer of Dimapur highlighted the importance of the Electoral Roll in ensuring free and fair elections. He emphasised the process undertaken to compile the Electoral Roll accurately, reflecting the eligible voters as of the qualifying date.
Phom also informed that some additions, deletions, and corrections were incorporated in the final publication. He mentioned that Dimapur consists of 23 wards and the urban municipal elections will be based on the final publication. Phom assured that due process was followed before any additions were made, with proper documentation and verification. Phom expressed his gratitude to all the people involved in the preparation of the electoral roll.
