KOHIMA, August 1 (MExN): The Finance Department (Budget & Monitoring Cell) has withheld the salaries of 7 departmental Directorates for allegedly failing a monetary procedural requirement. An Office Memorandum issued by the Additional Chief Secretary & Finance Commissioner on August 1, said that the Departments, namely—Civil Police, School Education, Rural Development, Social Security & Welfare, Co-operation, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, and Technical Education “failed to furnish the details of deposit of interests earned in SNA Account till 31-3-2023” despite repeated reminders. On account of this, it said that the “Salaries/Wages of the Directorates of the defaulting departments” have been withheld till they furnish the requisite information.
