Financial Inclusion mela in Longmatra town

Longmatra, April 8 (MExN): In commemoration of 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Block Mission Management Unit Longmatra Block (BMMU) under the aegis of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) conducted Financial Inclusion (FI) mela at Longmatra town on April 8.

During the programme, Atsope Sangtam, BPM BMMU Longmatra gave a brief introductory note on the achievements and the changes that has been taken place in the Rural Villages under Longmatra block after the intervention of NSRLM. She said, in an effort to educate rural masses on various financial inclusion programmes and schemes, FI programmes and training was also conducted at the Village and Block level from time to time. She encouraged the participants to take opportunity of the Mela and enroll or register themselves in various schemes and programmes provided by the Government.

Resources persons from the department of Agriculture, Labour, Medical, Horticulture, SBI and NSCB Ltd shares on various programmes and schemes available in their own respective department and encourages the participants to availed the opportunity and at the same time educate the community for the same when they go back to villages. 

Earlier, Atula, Youth Pastor Longmatra Town Baptist Lithro invokes God’s Blessings while Kuramong, AC-FI BMMU Longmatra Chaired the prgramme. Rothrongse, DC-FI NSRLM spoke on the objectives of conducting FI Mela in every Block. Yanglikokpong AC- Livelihood, BMMU Longmatra delivered vote of thanks and Litsala, President Longmatra Villlage VLO pronounced a benediction. It was followed by distribution of seeds from KVK Kiphire and enrollment of Various Social Security Schemes, Government programmes, Account opening and filling up of Bank Loans by the SHG’s.
