Financial literacy camp at Changki village

Mokokchung, October 19 (DIPR): To promote the cause of Financial Literacy/inclusion, a one day Financial Literacy Camp (FLC) was conducted at Changki Village on October 18. The camp was supported under FIF and managed by NABARD and organized by Care and Support Society, Mokokchung in collaboration with Allahabad, Changki Village Mokokchung.  

DDM, NABARD, S. Amarjit Mangang shared on the role played by NABARD in financial inclusion. He advised the villagers to inculcate the habit of saving and explained in detail the importance of having a savings account. He also advised them to cut down unnecessary expenditure and further stressed on the Farmers Club, SHG, KCC, WCC & JLG programmes. He further highlighted how NABARD is supporting the State Government in creating infrastructures at rural areas through RIDF from NABARD. S. Amarjit Mangang also appraised on PMMY and Standup India Schemes.  

Branch Manager Allahabad Bank, Changki Village, Mokokchung, Katitsungba also gave a briefing on the importance of banking, savings and financial planning and highlighted various financial services offered by the banks for the general public. He further emphasized on PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY.  

The programme was chaired by Imchawati Kichu, Managing Director, Care and Support Society. Welcome address was given by Lendi, Chairman Changki Village Council.
