
Mokokchung, January 7 (MExN): To promote financial literacy/inclusion, a one day Financial Literacy Camp (FLC) supported under FIF managed by NABARD was conducted at Chakpa Village on January 6, 2017. It was organized by Care and Support Society, Mokokchung in collaboration with Bank of Baroda, Mokokchung under the sponsorship of NABARD.
A press release from Imchawati Kichu, Managing Director, Care and Support Society informed that S. Amarjit Mangang, DDM, NABARD shared the importance of financial inclusion. He briefly highlighted on Farmers Club, SHG/JLG, WCC & KCC Programme, PMMY and Stand Up India Scheme. He further shared about digital transaction. Explaining in detail the importance of doing digital transaction, he advised the villagers to get RuPay Card so that they can do cashless transaction. He also dwelt on digital wallets, internet banking and *99# portal.
Meanwhile, Nahphoa, Manager, Bank of Baroda, Mokokchung pointed out the importance of banking, savings, financial planning. He highlighted various financial services offered by the banks for the general public and also spoke on PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY in detail. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Imchawati Kichu, Managing Director, Care and Support Society, while welcome address was given by Moluba, Secretary, Chakpa Village Council.
