DIMAPUR, AUGUST 13 (MExN): A state-level formal launching of Financial Literacy Campaign under AKAM 2.0 was conducted by the Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) at Mokokchung on August 10. Participants from districts of Mon, Longleng, Tuensang, Wokha, Zunheboto and Mokokchung attended the program.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe graced the inaugural function as special guest. He said Nagaland is in a very poor level of literacy rate as compared to other states. He assured all possible support from the district administration towards alleviation of financial literacy among the masses.
State Program Manager-Financial Inclusion (SPM-FI), NSRLM, Rajuselie Lhousa, in his keynote address said Financial Literacy Campaign is being conducted throughout the country from January to till August 15. In Nagaland, the Mission aims to take FL program to all the villages through the community cadres designated as financial literacy community resource persons (FLCRP) who will provide trainings to the SHG members.
FLCRPs from 5 districts were namely A Ali; Tialila Aier; Honlih T Yinlunghu; Cholongla; Ethel Kithan shared their experiences. APMJJBY claimant Tianaro (Changtongya Yimsen) also shared her testimony.
Altogether 16 SHGs were handed over loan sanction order by Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NStCB) and Nagaland Rural Bank (NRB).One SHG from Chuchuyimlang block received a pickup truck through Nagaland Rural Express Yojana (NREY) project under Chief Minister Micro Finance Initiative (CMMFI) scheme financed by Nagaland Rural Bank (NRB). A field visit to Chuchuyimpang village, under Ongpangkong North Block, was organized on the same day.
