Financial Security, important to have a stable life

Zhavame Union Kohima holds 30th General Session

The Zhavame Union Kohima (ZUK) commemorated its 30th General Session today at the NSF Solidarity Park Kohima with Er Daniel Krocha, Deputy Director, Information Technology & Communication as the speaker.

Addressing the gathering, he spoke about the need and importance of having financial security to have a stable life while asserting that having financial security also enables one to fulfil their long term goals and further gives them investment opportunities.
Most importantly, he underscored that this leads to community impact and eventually impacts the lives of people in the society at large.

He also highlighted the various aspects of having financial security which includes keeping aside emergency fund and having a medical insurance. “Even if you don't get salary for 6 months, if you have your emergency fund you will be able to get by,” he stated.

He further dwelt on proper “personal financial management” which is an essential element for financial security. In this regard, he also shared a formula of 50:30:20 wherein he said, “Whatever amount that you get, use 50% for your basic needs, 30% for your wants and save the 20%, for the future.”  He urged upon the citizens to apply this formula in their personal lives to achieve financial security.

Er. Daniel Krocha also encouraged young people to venture into business while stating that in today's world of technology there is immense opportunity to grow a business even on social media platforms like Instagram and further cited success stories of ventures in this regard.

He exuded hope that Zhavame Union Kohima would continue to grow as a community and achieve financial security for themselves, which has the power to eventually transform the community and the society.

Extending greetings on the occasion, Medovi Rhi, President of Naga Students' Federation remarked that the Zhavame Union Kohima as a body has been playing the role of parents for the citizens of Zhavame dwelling in Kohima. While their tenure has come to an end, he exuded hope that the outgoing team would continue to shelter and guide the people from the village living in the state capital. He also exhorted young people studying in the state capital to diligently pursue their studies and fulfil the very goal for which their parents have sent them to Kohima.

In his presidential address, Deo Movi, President of Zhavame Union Kohima dwelt on the aspects of living together as a community. He also stated hope that they would continue to help and support each other in times of need and work together towards achieving common goals as a community.

Highlights of the event included invocation by Moliba Pohena, Chaplain ZUK, folk song by Women Society, Kohima, special songs by members of BOC, Lerie & Minister's Hill and Billy Graham Road, a debate on the topic, "Marrying an outsider girl is better than a native girl", General Secretary Report by Sarhünyi Dukru, declaration of new team for the tenure 2025-2027 with an act of blessing by Rev Vikuo Rhi and vote of thanks by Vikho Domeh, Treasurer, ZUK. The programme was chaired by Dr Thebi Joseph Shupao, ZUK Finance Secretary.
