Dimapur, March 29 (MExN): Major fire was averted with the timely arrival and action of the Fire Brigade at Hongkong Market Tuesday morning at around 10.30 a.m. Fire broke out in a cosmetic shop near the flyover bridge, but was contained with the timely arrival of Fire Brigade, police personnel led by OC East PS and Mahila IRB.
The owners claimed that goods worth few lakhs were destroyed in the fire, before the rest of the goods could be retrieved. It is suspected that the fire broke out due to short circuit in the ceiling.
Meanwhile, the Hazi Park Businessmen Welfare Committee in a press release has expressed gratitude to the Fire Brigade personnel, OC East PS and Mahila IRB jawans for their timely intervention in dousing the fire, which otherwise could have spread to other shops.
