Fire breaks out at Quarantine Centre kitchen in Tuensang

TUENSANG, JULY 6 (MExN): A fire broke out at the kitchen of the COVID-19 Quarantine Centre at Loyem Ground, Tuensang on July 6. 


A press release from the Fire Department informed that a call was received on 11:00 am, after which the Fire and Emergency Services mobilized a quick response team from Fire Station Tuensang. Three Fire Tenders were pressed into action. 


The fire had broken out at a traditional morung which was being used as a kitchen for the Quarantine Centre. The press release informed that one traditional morung belonging to Yunyu Union Tuensang was completely burnt and two morungs belonging to Khudei and Nakshou Union Tuensang were partially burnt in the inferno. 


Property worth 5 Lakhs approximately was lost in the inferno, it was informed. Forutunately, no casualty was reported from the incident.

 

The department informed that the fire was caused due to an electrical short circuit. The response team was led by Duty Commander, SI, Thenuosielie Pielie and NK/Clark Lalal Gante.
