Rs 40 lakh worth property gutted
Dimapur, September 3 (MExN): Fire broke out in M/s Shikuto Sema Saw Mill located at 7th Mile, Chümoukedima on September 3 morning.
Though the exact reason for fire is yet to be known, it was estimated that about Rs 40 lakh worth property was burnt.
Fire & Emergency Services, DY SP (F&ES) T Shilu Jamir in a press release informed that on receiving fire call at 4:49 am, a quick response team was mobilized from Fire Station Chümoukedima, Fire Station Dimapur (Central) and Fire Station Dimapur (West) to control the fire.
Six fire tenders along with sufficient equipments and fire personnel were pressed into action. It took the team five hours to combat the fire and with timely response, the fire was prevented from spreading, Jamir added.
The response team was led by Duty Commander, SI Francis Sungsit, SI Kenyuyhun Kent, SIC Pausung and SI Thungathung Shitire.
