Fire breaks out at Hydro Power Station in Kiphire

Fire broke out at VVJ Stone Crusher, near Naga Cemetery, Chümoukedima on May 8.
Dimapur, May 9 (MExN): In an unfortunate incident, fire broke out at Hydro Power Station, Kiphire on May 8.
A quick response team from Fire Station Kiphire led by 2nd OC, Nungsangmeren Ao and Duty Commander, ASI Neisiekuo rushed to the spot and contained the fire. Timely intervention of fire personnel managed to put fire under control and prevented from further spreading to adjoining areas.
A report from the Nagaland, Fire & Emergency Services stated that the cause of fire is unknown and no casualty was reported. An area of approximately 150x150 sq mtrs was damaged in the inferno.
VVJ Stone Crusher catches fire
In another incident, fire broke out at VVJ Stone Crusher, near Naga Cemetery, Chümoukedima on May 8.
The Fire & Emergency Services on receiving the fire call at 11:07 pm mobilised a quick response team from Fire Station Chümoukedima. The response team led by Duty Commander SI Francis Singsit reached the incident site at 11:23 pm and contained the fire.
Six kutcha houses used as labourer’s shelter were completely razed down and property worth 6 lakh was lost in the inferno.
“The fire was caused by short circuit. No casualty was reported,” the press release from the Nagaland, Fire & Emergency Services.
