The Fire & Emergency Services, Nagaland has responded various categories of 99 fire call from January 2018 to October 2018 and saved property worth Rs. 1268.20 lakhs.
This was stated in the Annual Administrative Report 2018-19 of home department tabled in the recently concluded 3rd session of 13th NLA here.
The report stated that an estimated property loss during that period due to fire incidents was about Rs. 600 lakhs.
The aims and objectives of fire & emergency services is to save life and property and conduct rescue operation.
It has 43 water tender pumps and 36 vehicles for fighting the fire incidents, the report stated.
The report stated that construction of the directorate building is in good progress while Dimapur Sub- Fire Station at DDSC Dimapur and Jalukie Fire Station at Jalukie will be completed within this financial year.
Basing on SFAC and MHA criteria, the department is eying for establishment of 48 fire stations in the state, the report stated.
As part of its vision, department aim to establish Regional Emergency Management Training Institute and to enhance fire fighting perspective through training and latest technology.
