Tuensang, October 7 (MExN): Two houses were burnt down by a fire suspected to have been caused by electric short circuit around 11:00 am on October 6 at Saksi NAP Sector (13th Ward), Tuensang Town, according to a press release. The fire, which lasted for nearly an hour, completely destroyed all the properties, documents and belongings of all the four families residing in the houses, but there is no casualty, said the release issued by Chang Union (CU) vice president, H. Wongto Chang and Chang Students’ Union (CSU) president, Nato Y. Chang of Saksi NAP Sector (13thWard).
The CU and CSU of Saksi NAP Sector have appealed to the District Disaster Management authority, Tuensang to provide immediate disaster relief to the affected families.
Meanwhile, the two unions lauded the Fire Service Tuensang and Police personnel for their timely intervention and necessary steps initiated through their ends. They also thanked the administrator TTC and 3rd Bn. NAP Tuensang for providing vehicle services and manpower in clearing up the remnants and further acknowledged the general public and well wishers for rendering their services in times of crisis towards the affected families, physically and financially.
