Dimapur, January 10 (MExN): A major fire incident was averted at Signal Angami on Sunday evening. Panicked residents called up the Fire Brigade informing of a fire starting at a thatch residential house. The Dimapur Fire Brigade responded to the alarm immediately but the residents doused the flames before it engulfed the entire house. A bedding roll was reported to have been burned. The fire was reportedly caused by an unattended candle. One fire personnel said that it could have been a major fire had the flames not been doused early on. The house was located adjacent to an RCC building and in a congested neighbourhood.
