Atleast 15 families were rendered homeless by a fire at Chungaizaeng colony, Dimapur, on October 3. The fire, which broke out at around 1:00 pm, razed a row of tin-roof, bamboo structures.
The Fire & Emergency Services pressed into service four fire trucks, two each from Fire Station (Central) and Fire Station (West), managing to control the flames within one hour. The fire was suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
There were no reports of any casualty.
