In a welcome gesture, the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) has taken  a  giant step by supplying first-aid kits to taxis plying around the state. An observer termed it as a “humanitarian gesture” adding that such step would go a long way in facilitating both drivers and passengers during times of medical need. ANTA president Keneingutuo Chielie told The Morung Express that the step was taken by the association for safety and to address emergencies for drivers and passengers in the  event of any road  accidents. He claimed that the step has been received well by drivers and passengers. The first-aid kit consists of antiseptic, cotton and gloves. Chielie said that more than 300 kits have been distributed so far; it will supply kits to all taxis. Perhaps, this initiative  taken by ANTA is the first of its kind in the  northeast.
