Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Nagaland State Branch completed a three-day first aid training programme for the fire station personnel of the Airports Authority of India at Dimapur Airport.

Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Nagaland State Branch completed a three-day first aid training programme for the fire station personnel of the Airports Authority of India at Dimapur Airport.
The training held from January 29 to 31 aimed to enhance the participants' proficiency in providing immediate medical assistance during emergencies, stated a press release received here.
The training comprised 20 members, including 15 local participants from Dimapur Airport and five from various other states. The out-of-state participants were from Imphal Airport, Manipur; Agartala Airport (two participants); Guwahati Airport, Assam; and Lilabari Airport, Assam.
The diverse group of participants contributed to a rich exchange of knowledge and experiences throughout the training sessions, the release stated.
During the three-day intensive programme, participants underwent comprehensive instruction on various aspects of first aid, including assessing injuries, administering CPR, controlling bleeding, treating burns, and managing shock. Practical exercises, simulations, and interactive sessions were utilized to ensure active engagement and effective learning.
Following the training sessions, participants underwent a rigorous evaluation to assess their proficiency in first aid skills. The evaluation aimed to ensure that each participant was equipped with the necessary knowledge and abilities to respond effectively to medical emergencies in their respective roles, it stated.
Upon completion of the evaluation, the General Secretary of the Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch, Akhale V Khamo, addressed the trainees during a closing ceremony. Khamo congratulated the participants on their dedication and commitment throughout the training program. She emphasised the critical role that first aid responders play in saving lives and commended the participants for their willingness to serve their communities in times of need.
During the ceremony, certificates of completion were awarded to each participant, recognizing their achievement and acknowledging their readiness to respond to emergencies with competence and confidence.
