Wokha, June 24 (MExN): The Lotha Middle Range Students’ Union (LMRSU) conferred the first Dr Anthony Patton Academic Excellency award at Baghty Montfort School with EAC Sanis Arhomo Yanthan as special guest.
According to a press release on Friday, the EAC noted that students are the ‘future of tomorrow who can change the society’ and advised them to choose their careers wisely. He told them to set their goals and dreams and to follow them with guided, clear vision, humility, determination, dedication and devotion to excel and succeed.
Stating that students need to be disciplined and hardworking, he further advised them to set priorities and to overcome complacency and procrastination. He also encouraged them to cultivate hobbies in order to remain physically and mentally sharp, while also wishing them the best in their future endeavours.
Earlier, a presidential note was delivered by Wonchibemo Ovung, while short speeches were delivered by Brother AC Sebastian, director of Montfort School, Baghty, representative of Baghty Town Students Union, and Renthunglo Yanthan (Top 10th HSSLC Science) on behalf of the toppers. A message from the family of Dr Anthony Patton was delivered by Thungdemo Odyuo, education and statistical secretary, LMRSU.
During the programme a cash award and citation were handed over to all the toppers from the units of LMRSU, the release stated.
