Dimapur, June 29 (MExN): The first e-commerce website with the license to sell digital products using the largest and most secure online transaction gateway provider CC Avenue was launched today by Minister of Youth Resources and Sports Merentoshi Jamir with a prayer from poet, musician and assistant pastor of PowerComm, UBC Jonathan Mesen at Ozone Cafe, Kohima. The website aims to promote digital products produced in Nagaland starting from music inorder to promote the talent and creativity of the Nagas. People from any corner of the world can log in to www.indihut.com to directly purchase music albums using their debit card, credit cards and internet banking through a highly secure SSL payment gateway.
The e-commerce portal is a collaborative initiative of Yanpvuo Kikon (Software Engineer, Accenture and creator of The Naga Blog) and his younger brother Liyo Kikon (Managing Director of Naga Headhunters Entertainment). The event was hosted by writer and journalist Al Ngullie with performances from Temjen Jamir (Producer and Guitarist of Polar Lights), award winning hip hop artiste Imli Lee a.k.a. Deja Vu and beat boxer Kito. The Minister for Youth Resource and Sports stressed on the need for Naga youth to use technology for constructive and productive purpose which will help in promoting our indigenous products and export it across the globe. Merentoshi Jamir opined that this is the first of its kind in the State which should strive to grow and expand in the lines of ebay and other global e-commerce giants. Yanpvuo Kikon gave an overview of how ideas are generated by identifying problems and finding solutions to these problems by using technology and innovative ventures. He encouraged the youngsters to use indihut as a benchmark to develop new initiatives which will bring about a healthy competition to inculcate a spirit of innovation among the new Naga generation. Liyo Kikon introduced the technical features in the website which will feature albums of Naga musicians available for download at a rate of Rs.100. The event treated the denizens of Kohima to an evening of fresh original music and motivational talks.
