First-Ever 35+ MFL Vision League kicks off in Mokokchung

The first-ever 35+ MFL Vision League, an Under-13 football league initiated by the 35+ Mokokchung Football League, officially kicked off at Mujabi Futsal Turf, Mokokchung on December 6. The league is being held under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) and is powered by Longterok Football Club.

The opening ceremony was graced by Ajay Moktan, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, Mokokchung, who emphasized the role of sports in shaping discipline, teamwork, and resilience among young players. He encouraged the children to embrace the league as an opportunity to learn and grow both on and off the field. 

Speaking on the occasion, MDFA Vice President Bendangnukshi expressed confidence that the Vision League would help develop new football philosophies among the youth. He urged the young participants to use their skills positively and contribute to society through sportsmanship and dedication.

Vesupra Kezo Senior Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, addressed the players with a message, urging them to seize the opportunity provided by the Vision League. He encouraged them to remain disciplined and not be disheartened by losses, noting that “tomorrow’s football stars are being made here.”

The programme was chaired by Er Imtiyanger Imchen, and the invocation was delivered by Imliwapang, Pastor of Christ Church. Tiakumzuk, Convenor of the league, delivered the welcome address.

The Vision League features six youth clubs—Rising Phoenix FC, Speedy Cheetahs, Mini Marvels, Tenacious Titans, Daring Dolphins, and Agile Avengers—comprising players aged 8 to 13, with each team mentored and guided by the corresponding senior teams of the 35+ Mokokchung Football League.
