For the very first time in the North East, an international Investors Meet coinciding with the Agri Expo would be held at Dimapur scheduled for the later part of March or beginning of April next. This was disclosed by Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) Alemtemshi Jamir here this afternoon at a press conference. He informed that investors from all over the country, as well as from U.K, France and Netherlands would be attending the Meet.
Meanwhile, the state Government through the Union Ministry is likely to invite Myanmar and some ASEAN countries for the meet. Alemtemshi also disclosed that the venue of the Agri Expo in Dimapur was likely to be a permanent site, more like the ‘North East Pragati Maidan’ for the entire region as contemplated by the Union Government, where the states of the eastern India as well as the ASEAN countries would be able to take part and showcase their products including agricultural and manufacturing products. The Agri Expo would be able to provide a better chance for the new invents of local artisans of the entire region as well as the quality products of the farmers.
Alemtemshi informed that the dates for the Agri Expo has to be decided upon by the convenience of the Prime Minister, who would be inaugurating the event along with a Union Minister during the recess of the ongoing Parliament session which would likely be from the later part of March up to mid April.
