Phek, December 15 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Phek, Shanavas C, IAS, has on December 13, informed that the First Level Checking of EVMs & WPATs to be used for the forthcoming Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections will be held from December 20 to 23. Representatives of political parties have been requested to attend the aforementioned process.
The details are as follows: December 20 to 23 at DC Office, Phek from 9:00 am onwards on each of the four days. In the same regard, the following instructions surrounding the FLC have also been issued:
• Entry in the FLC hall shall be permitted only after verification of the identity of your representative for which ID cards will be issued earlier in the day itself (20th December). Thus, kindly submit the names and passport photographs of your representatives beforehand and direct them to be present at least by 8.45 AM on the 20th of December.
• The FLC hall, as directed by the Election Commission of India (ECl), has to stay electronically sanitized at all times. Therefore, no cell phones/ camera and other electronics devices shall be allowed in the hall.
• The representatives are kindly requested to co-operate with the staff and the police personal present, who shall be duty bound for the success of the FLC.
• The entry shall be guarded by Police and record of all visitors will be maintained.
FLC is a very critical exercise in the electoral process. It provides an opportunity to the political parties and the administration to come together to witness the sanctity of EVMs and VVPATs. Moreover, it provides the political establishment a chance to witness firsthand the sincere efforts of the Administration/Election Machinery to keep the elections free and fair.
