First Naga Dental Specialist no more; Condolences pour in

Kohima, June 24 (MExN): The Indian Dental Association, Nagaland State Branch has mourned the demise of Dr Avilie Solo at NHAK, Kohima on June 23. A senior Dental Surgeon under the department of Health & Family Welfare, who is also the “First Naga Dental Specialist” among the Dental fraternity and has also previously served in the capacity of the President IDANSB. 

IDANSB in its condolence message stated that during his 32 years in the profession of dentistry, Dr Avilie Solo has fervently advocated his dental services for optimal patient care and mentored many junior dentists both in Government and private sectors. 

Since entry into the Government service, in the year 1991, he was the first dental Surgeon at CHC Pfutsero who has provided excellent dental services where the public in the area still fondly remembers him. He has also been instrumental in bringing dental speciality services at NHAK for the general public, IDANSB stated.  

It also conveyed condolence and prayers to the family members especially his wife Dr Margaret and their children Virienuo Emilia, Neilasanuo Bibiana and Kevija Ralp Solo.  

Commissioner and Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Y Kikheto Sema, IAS has also expressed saddens for the demise of Dr Avilie Solo.

“During my short association with him, I found him to be sincere and committed in his profession. His untimely demise is not only a great loss to the family but also to the Department of Health & Family Welfare,” Sema stated. 

“I, on behalf of the Department of Health & Family Welfare and my own behalf, convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray that God Almighty bestow solace and strength to the family members at this hour of sorrow and grief,” he conveyed.
