Phek, May 14 (MExN): The first phase public meetings of State BJP ended on May 14 with a meeting in Phek district. Several important issues concerning the achievements of the NDA government, party’s development policies and programmes, Vision 2018, etc were highlighted during the meeting, a release from General Secretary, BJP Nagaland (Media), Jaangsillung Gonmei said.
The BJP Nagaland President, Visasolie Lhoungu and party leaders pointed out that the BJP’s development policies are grassroots oriented, meaning the development process is programmed to start from the grassroots to upwards. As such, the BJP’s NDA government mainly focuses on the weaker sections, marginalized sectors, women and child, youths, minorities and the tribal areas which largely form the major part of the grassroots section, it was highlighted. Accordingly, the BJP government has taken several policy measures to reach out to the grassroots, particularly the North East region and the tribals by creating appropriate ministries to look after the specific requirements such as the Ministry of Skill development, Ministry for Tribal Affairs and Minorities, Ministry of DONOR etc, the BJP officials said. 33% women reservation, MUDRA scheme, 3 tier insurance scheme, etc are some of the instances which indicate the BJP’s genuine concern for the uplift of the people at the grassroots, they added.
It was further stressed that youth, women and child affairs are receiving special attention particularly on skill development and employment, employment generation, social security, health, etc. “All these efforts are indicative of the fact that the BJP is a genuine pro-people party and is committed to work for the upliftment of the people.” In this regard, the BJP Nagaland sought the support and cooperation of the people.
The release also informed that several new members joined the BJP during the meetings, namely retired officer in Wokha, village NPF unit in Mokokchung, a GB and his members in Zunheboto, Congress Mahila General Secretary of Kiphire and twenty members. The BJP Nagaland expressed confidence of registering more supporters and members from all over the state.
