TUENSANG, MAY 24 (DIPR): Former Tuensang Town Committee member and present President, Tuensang District Mahila Committee under DCCI, Mrs Rokila died at Zion Hospital Dimapur on May 21 last. She was 55 years old.
The mortal remains of Mrs Rokila was brought to Tuensang for the funeral programme and final burial on May 22. She served as Government Primary Teacher earlier and due to public demand, she took voluntary retirement and contested in Tuensang Town Council elections. She was elected and became the first woman elected member of Tuensang Town Committee. She was elected to two terms to serve the public in Tuensang town.
The funeral service was held at her residence premises on May 22 where several people attended and paid their respects to the departed soul. All the speakers remarked that she was a good public leader. The service was led by Pastor, Tuensang Town Baptist Church, H Sangkap. As a mark of respect to the departed leader all shops and business establishments remained closed in Tuensang town. She leaves behind two sons and two daughters.
