The grand inaugural was attended by an excited crowd who had gathered well before the opening. It was officially launched with the blessing of Kanti Jain, the MD of Amar Mill Dimapur and also the parents of Arinjay Jain, proprietor of the FirstCry store.

The store has been set up keeping in mind the convenience and ease of shopping for the customer, the ground floor occupying kids and mothers apparel, with the upper floor housing toys and bath products, health care, diapering and an extended apparel wing.[/caption] With Dimapur increasingly growing as the preferred base for establishing business, given its moniker of being the commercial hub of Nagaland, it is not a surprise that the people behind the FirstCry.com decided to open the second outlet in the city, the first one being managed by a different business owner entirely. Khriesinuo Metha, Marketing and PR representative of FirstCry.com explains how the store has been set up keeping in mind the convenience and ease of shopping for the customer. The store is divided into two levels, the ground floor occupying kids’ and mothers’ apparel, with the upper floor housing toys and bath products, healthcare, diapering and an extended apparel wing.
In an exclusive chat with The Morung Express, the brains behind the store, Arinjay Jain narrates how a thorough market research led him to discovering the lack of specialty stores for kids and mothers and even within the available options, the dearth of choices that often leaves parents and expectant ones in a tiny corner. It was this very predicament that led him to venture out in the baby care segment, with the firm objective of catering not just to the needs of parents and kids in terms of product availability but also helping them with valuable advice on the appropriate product for the child which is conducive for their health and growth.
It can be rightly observed that the purchasing culture of the Nagas has considerably evolved over the years. Online shopping has caught on like a bug.
When asked if they plan on influencing the percentage of online shoppers in Nagaland, Jain asserts that FirstCry.com sees no competition as such especially when the brand offers the products at the same price as available on its virtual platform, with discounts same as applicable on both their online and physical stores. And this, he says, will also attract the rural populace as the pricing is tailor-made for every income group.
In a slightly different topic, Jain further, adds how the FristCry.com Dimapur chapter aims to create a workspace for its employees that harp on employee benefits beyond salary. What is noteworthy is their employee reward system which comprises of health cover, efficiency awards, remunerations and several other perks. This correspondent observed how well-trained the workforce is and their proficiency in handling customers and their queries. When asked about their future strategies, Jain responded that the next six months are going to determine whether they would be in a position to be able to extend their outlet to different districts in the state.
For now, Nagas in general and Dimapurians in particular, can enjoy the ambience and variety of baby and mommy care products that FirstCry.com has in its fold and more. Morung Express News
