Fishmonger arrested for duping Kohima resident  

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 26 (MExN): Kohima police arrested a fishmonger from Shillong for duping a local resident of Kohima to the tune of Rs 6 lakh in the month of April. A press statement issued by PRO, DEF Kohima stated that the fishmonger, after duping the local resident had fled from Kohima. On receipt of a complaint on June 18, an investigation was carried out and subsequently, the location of the accused was traced to Shilllong, Meghalaya. Accordingly, a police team from Kohima North PS proceeded to Shillong on September 21 and after carrying out reconnaissance of the suspected hideout of the absconding accused, he was finally arrested by the police team with the assistance of the local police on September 24, the press statement said.  The accused who has been identified as one Mantu Mahato (30 yrs) hailing from Bihar was brought back to Kohima for further investigation.
