Fitment Committee to examine revision of pay

Kohima, July 14 (DIPR): The Governor of Nagaland has constituted a Pay (Fitment) Committee to examine the matter relating to revision of pay of employees of the state government and to recommend fitment of their pay and allowances vis-à-vis the Sixth Central Pay Commission recommendations. The Committee includes Principal Secretary for justice & law, C J Ponraj as chairman, Home Commissioner Mhathung Kithan, Commissioner and Secretary for P&AR, Temjen Toy, and Joint Secretary for works & housing, K I Yanger, as members, and K Helli, Secretary for finance as Member Secretary.

The Terms of Reference for the Committee will be to recommend revised Pay Bands and Grade Pay under the Sixth Pay Commission against each of the existing State pay scales; the allowances that should be admissible to the state government employees under the Revised Scales/Pay Band and the rates at which each of the allowances should be admissible; the adoption of the rates and pattern of pension and family pension including commutation, gratuity etc.; revision, if any, of the rate of monthly Medical Allowance in respect of both serving employees and the pensioners; the rates of TA/DA including Transfer/Retirement TA; to make recommendation in regard to option to be allowed to the employees to retain existing scale of pay and allowances, and any other matter that the Committee may deem necessary.

The Committee may co-opt any other member as may be deemed necessary, it was added. The Committee shall submit its report/recommendation to the government within 2 (two) months of its constitution.
