Five health projects inaugurated in Manipur

Manipur Health and family Welfare minister, L Jayantakumar Singh inaugurated five health projects in four different districts on August 9.

 

The projects include District Early Intervention Centre, DEIC, one each at Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur, Dedicated Eye Ward at Churachandpur and Bishnupur.

 

Jayantakumar inaugurated DEIC at JNIMS, RIMS and Bishnupur District Hospital. He also opened Dedicated Eye Wards, one at Churachandpur and the other at Bisnupur District Hospital. A Palliative ward at Bishnupur District Hospital was also inaugurated by the minister.

 

Speaking at the inaugural occasion, the minister said that the newly opened DEICs, Dedicated Eye Ward and Palliative ward will benefit the people upto certain extent.

 

He said that the state government has been doing its best to improve the health system of the state. Despite financial constraints of the state government, the health department is taking all possible steps to boost the health sector, he added.

 

He further advised the health staff to be sincere and dedicated to their service.

 

Stating that life is “so precious,” the minister stressed on the importance of protecting and maintaining one’s health.

 

He appealed to the public to cooperate with the government in its initiatives especially in health sector.

 

Regarding the problem of shortage of health staff in the department, he said that necessary process will be taken up to recruit health employees. The minister informed that the matter will be tabled in the state cabinet. He also said that Ministry of Health, Government of India is also willing to provide necessary fund for the state.

 

At the inaugural function at Churachandpur District Hospital, Agriculture Minister, V Hangkhalian was on the dais as president while State Mission Director S Manikanta Singh was guest of honor. CMO, Churachandpur, health staff, staff from NHM, Doctors and nurses were also present.
