Flood Relief Camp set up in Naharbari

Dimapur, July 21 (MExN): A Flood Relief Camp has been set up in Naharbari for victims of one of the worst affected area in the recent unfortunate flood in Dimapur.  

The flood began on the evening of July 19 and subsequently affected more than 500 households. While the exact figure for persons affected could not be ascertained, the Naharbari Village Council estimates that between a thousand to 3000 people have been affected in the floods.  

Around midnight, the EAC Chumukedima arrived at the affected area for assessment and following a brief meeting with the Naharbari Village Council and GBs, temporary shelter at Village Council Hall and old school building were arranged immediately.  

At the Flood Relief Camp, basic items like rice, potatoes, dal, biscuits, water and juice were provided to all the victims.  

“Further arrangements will be made after hearing from the concerned authorities,” Chairman of the Naharbari Village Council, Tokheli Kikon, informed.
