First Naga Baptist Church, DFW, Texas organised a Naga Cultural Exhibition in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas on October 7.

Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): The First Naga Baptist Church (FNBC), DFW, Texas organised a Naga Cultural Exhibition in international platform for the first time in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas on October 7.

The main purpose of the event was to share the rich culture of the Nagas with the rest of the world, the church stated in a press release. The occasion was graced by Rev Isaac Jojo, Secretary General, Naga Public Organization, Myanmar as the chief guest. Rev Isaac Jojo in his message exhorted that the Nagas are always one despite the many geographical division in the Naga inhabited areas. 

FNBC Pastor Lanu Lemtur in his welcome speech addressed that the Nagas have a rich culture to showcase to the world, but the most important message to share was how we converted from headhunters to soul winners. 

 

Some of the highlights were ethnic Naga dances, Naga folk songs and exhibition of Naga attires, ornaments, some Naga memorabilia and artifacts and the presentation of delicious Naga food. Kughaho Chishi, Founder, Nagaland Chambers Choir led the congregation in singing a couple of Naga indigenous songs.

Chuingchan Shokwungnao in his vote of thanks asserted the importance of our God given culture and emphasised that “culture and history are the essence of our knowledge. Culture and history are the essence of our identity.”
