Kiphire, February 16 (MExN): The Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH) held a Thanksgiving programme on February 13 at Phisami Village, Kiphire, to celebrate the signing of what it termed the “historic and significant Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) agreement” with the Government of India on February 5.
An update from the ESH Media cell stated that this landmark accord promises unprecedented progress and development for Eastern Nagaland.
Addressing the gathering, the president of the ESH, K Tokishe Sema, expressed gratitude to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Ministry of Home Affairs for granting the FNTA to the people of Eastern Nagaland.
Likewise, he also thanked S Phangnon Konyak, Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland and Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio along with the Government of Nagaland for the efforts and support in making this agreement possible.
Furthermore, the president thanked the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) team and all the supporters, adding that the unwavering support made this achievement possible.
The Presidents of Eastern Sumi Kukami Hoho, Eastern Nagaland Sumi Officers’ Union, Eastern Nagaland Sumi Students’ Union, Eastern Sumi Totomi Hoho and Eastern Sumi Youth Front spoke at the programme.
It stated that each speaker expressed gratitude to the Eastern Sumi Hoho, the ENPO team, the study analysis and recommendations team, and every individual who contributed to this long struggle.
Pastor Viketo Chishi pronounced the Thanksgiving prayer to God for the blessing and guidance.
It asserted that this event underscored the unity and determination of the Eastern Nagaland community in securing a brighter future through this pivotal agreement for the people of Eastern Nagaland.
