Süthozu Nagwü | January 4 : The 33rd meet 2011 of Sekrüzu Area Sports Association (SASA) got underway here today with parliamentary secretary for social welfare and women & child development Chotisüh Sazo as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Sazo encouraged the sports lovers to focus towards professionalism in the field of games and sports. He also asserted that discipline, strong determination and regular practice are the three principles where one must maintain to excel in the field of games and sports.
Declaring the tournament opened, Sazo also stated that there are two scopes in sports- i.e job from government and private companies. Er. Vekho Swüro, EE, CAWD, Kohima also graced the opening ceremony as the guest of honour and delivered a short speech.
SASA president Velapra Shijo delivered welcome address while SASA general secretary Veku Sapu chaired the opening ceremony.
Altogether, seven villages within Sekrüzu area are taking pat in the ongoing tourney. The five-day long tournament is being marked by football, volleyball, basketball and track & field events.
Meanwhile, election of the new team of SASA for the tenure 2011-13 will take place on January 6 at 5:00 pm. The closing function will take place on January 8. Short speech will be delivered by Thüpuchiyi Keyho VCC while prize distribution will be led by Rhipu, head GB..
