ZUNHEBOTO, JUNE 17 (MExN): The Food Safety Wing under the Mokokchung Zone conducted a week-long Food Safety Awareness Campaign across nine villages in Zunheboto district from June 13 to 16, as part of efforts to promote healthier communities through informed food practices.
The campaign covered the villages of Philimi, Rotomi Old, Khrimtomi, Naghuto Old, Vekuho New, Asukhuto, Vekuho Old, Awotsakili, and Lokobomi, with the objective of sensitizing the public—particularly community leaders and frontline workers—on critical food safety concerns.

Sessions also highlighted proper hygiene and sanitation during food preparation and encouraged the practice of reading food labels for informed consumption choices.

Dr Gihuka Chishi, Medical Officer at Atoizu PHC, served as the resource person and delivered detailed presentations throughout the campaign. The programme was conducted under the leadership of Sukumlo Yanthan, Food Safety Officer, Mokokchung Zone.
