Kohima, November 9 (MExN): The office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Kohima, in collaboration with the Nagaland Sports Association, organized a two-day free football registration camp and an exhibition match at the IG Stadium in Kohima on November 9. A DIPR report stated that the inaugural ceremony witnessed the participation of Vihuzo Kense, SVEEP (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation) Icon for Kohima.
Kense highlighted the objectives of SVEEP, describing it as a multi-dimensional structure that operates from the grassroots level to the national level. He announced that SVEEP camps would be organised on November 3, 4, 17 and 18. He emphasized the need for youth involvement in community planning and decision-making, noting that while this aspect has not received much attention in the past, youth are increasingly taking part in community development. Kense suggested that colleges and higher secondary institutions can appoint ambassadors who would play a vital role in registering eligible youth and students in their institutions. The inaugural was chaired by Dr RikuKhutso, Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC), Kohima. The mini-tournament is scheduled to commence from November 10, starting at 11:00 am, followed by an exhibition match between the District Election Office, Kohima, and the Chief Electoral Office, Kohima.
