Phek, December 13 (MExN): A five days long football coaching camp for girls concluded at Phek Town local ground on December 12 under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme. All the necessary COVID precautions and SOPs were followed throughout the training camp.
More than 120 participants turned up to avail free coaching camp organised and supported by Phek District Administration & DLCW-Mahila Shakti Kendra, Nagaland Football Coaches Association(NFCA) and DEF, Phek with the theme ‘Develop your skills with us’. The district administration assured that under BBBP more such training programmes will be conducted sub-division wise in the near future.
Six AIFF 'D' license coaches and a woman coach with a bachelor of Physical Education imparted training to girls during the weeklong camp.
On the last day of the training camp, exhibition matches were played for U-9, U-13, U-16 & 17 above. During closing ceremony, all the participants were presented with certificates, football boots and BBBP logo t shirt.
Certificate of merit were awarded to most promising players in different age category—Under-6 to Lunulu Rhakho, Under -13 to Swuyevelu Rhakho, Under -16 to Hukulu Keyho and Under-17 to Vebuno Keyho.
Phek DC Sachin Jaiswal IAS appreciated the team for organising such a camp to mould the talent at a tender age. He emphasised on imparting grassroots training adding that there is lots of potential among the youths of the district which has to be channelised in the right direction.
SDO(C ) & Nodal Officer BBBP, Phek N Bhavani Sri, IAS motivated the kids to have discipline, practice consistently and encouraged them to aim to play at national level.
ACI Football Academy Manipur coach and AIFF D license coach Lavoriyi Theluo said the camp was very challenging as this was the first time all the participants are undergoing such organised training. He however expressed his excitement to be a part of the training camp and learning new things.
