Foothill Road: NFHRCC ‘agitation’ from Sept 13 if govt fails to respond

Dimapur, September 7 (MExN): Following a meeting with various civil society organisations, youth fronts and student bodies on September 7, the Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has informed that its first phase of agitation would begin from September 13, if the state government fails to respond to its 30-day ultimatum by September 12.

The jurisdiction for the first phase of agitation will be confined to Dimapur and the Office of the PWD (R&B) Dimapur Division will be shutdown along with the restriction of all Government vehicular movement, the committee informed in a press release.

As per the release, the meeting also resolved to a core group comprising of the Central Naga Students’ Association as Convenor and the Dimapur Eastern Naga Students’ Union, Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland, Lotha Youth Organisation, Western Sümi Youth Front, and the Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation as Co-Convenors. The nomenclature of the Core group shall be name as ‘Young Naga Action Committee for Foothills Road,’ it stated.
