District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) Dimapur, Lolano Patton formally launched the masks distribution programme to the masses in the streets of Dimapur from Press Point, Super Market.

Speaking on the occasion, the DPRO lauded Tir Yimyim family led by its Editor and Publisher, K Temjen Jamir for taking the lead in the extra initiative for the cause of humanity, besides educating the people about COVID-19 through its print coverage. “Indeed it is a proud moment for the entire press fraternity,” she commented.

She further mentioned that COVID-19 would be there for a long time until a proper vaccine is found and said, “As responsible citizens we should keep on reminding the masses not to be complacent but to compulsorily follow the three golden rules to stay away from COVID-19 for the safety of oneself as well as for the safety of others.”

K Temjen while speaking at a brief function before the launch said that the masks distribution programme could be initiated through the contribution of the readers and well wishers. It is the mask most needed weapon to fight the virus, he stated while adding that masks would be distributed to the people walking in the streets without masks and also to those who are using disposable masks.
