
Dimapur, December 17 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has said that the disease of insular and local politics so rampant in the society of the Naga people must end, if at all greater development is to be brought about. Rio referred to Dimapur and Tuli being declared industrial areas and that ‘area politics’ and self-centeredness must end, if in any way real development must be had.
The chief minister was speaking a public meeting organized by the Merangkong Village Council at Milak river bank in Tuli on December 17, an official bulletin stated.
The chief minister appealed to the people of the area to refrain from village, area and regional politics but to work together to bring development to the area. He reminded that the world is changing rapidly and ‘we need young and energetic leaders to lead us for the future generation’.
“Nagaland Government has declared Dimapur and Tuli as industrial areas, but due to many obstacle, reasons, Tuli areas are still undeveloped, therefore the government is making all effort to develop those areas at all cost for the benefit of the people”, said Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
Also, the chief minister assured to render all possible help in developing the area. On his visit to Tuli, the chief minister was accompanied by a good number of his cabinet and ministerial colleagues among others.
