KOHIMA (MExN): The 8th Session of 10th Nagaland Legislative Assembly beginning from August 18 is expected to be a stormy one as the Opposition Congress announced its plans to raise several issues including on bogus appointment, free text book distribution, white paper on utilization of Rs. 365 crores, and the law and order problem.

Talking to The Morung Express, Opposition Leader I. Imkong said that the Tobu issue would also be raised at the Assembly. The anomaly in the recently published Civil list would also figure in the Assembly, Imkong said adding that it had created more confusion.

Imkong also stated that White Paper on utilization of Rs. 365 crores would be another major issue that would come in the form of questions to be raised on the floor of the House.

The Government is likely to make a statement on the Rs. 365 crore during the Assembly Session, Imkong said. “We will continue to insist on proper explanation on this matter”, he affirmed.

The Congress is also likely to raise the issue on the alleged fake gun license that has been reportedly issued to various districts and sub divisions in violation of the government order by the administrative officers.

Meanwhile, discussion on the Nagaland Municipal (First Amendment) Bill 2005 would take place on August 18. It was returned by Governor to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly with a request that the house reconsider framing of the bill.

Latter, commenting on the State logo, Imkong said the Congress was not against having separate State logo. He however said “the present Logo was not acceptable to us.”

He argued that it has not followed the procedure and it had not even got the approval of the Governor.
