Chümoukedima, October 6 (MExN): Agape Higher Secondary School in partnership with Dimapur Forest Division marked Wildlife Week 2025 with a special event on October 6, focusing on this year's theme, ‘Human Animal Coexistence.’
Delivering the keynote address, Beizo Suokhrie, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer of Dimapur, underlined the importance of ecological balance and the responsibility of fostering harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife, according to an official release.
A highlight of the event was a painting competition based on the theme, which saw participation from 10 students each from five schools: Goodwin Higher Secondary School, Cosmopolitan High School, Government Higher Secondary School, Nagaland Central Public School, and the host, Agape Higher Secondary School.
Student leaders Kerikul Lcho, School Captain (Class 12 Commerce), and Roviseno Terhuja, Vice Captain, shared their perspectives in a short speech session, reflecting youth commitment towards conservation efforts. An interactive segment was initiated by Dietholhoutuo Sesa, Principal of Agape Higher Secondary School.
The event, presided over by Forester I Imtimendang Jamir, concluded with a ceremonial tree plantation and the distribution of seedlings to reinforce the message of environmental stewardship.
