
KOHIMA, AUGUST 18 (DIPR): Individuals, organizations, government departments etc are required to pay forest royalty to the State Government for all forest produce used as per the current rates applicable to the State of Nagaland. Stressing this at the Kohima District Planning & Development Board meeting held at DC’s Conference Hall on August 17, DFO, Kohima. Dr. K Kire, IFS, said that forest royalty to the State Government are to be deducted at source and deposited to the Treasury by challan in favour of ‘Divisional Forest Officer of Kohima (in case of Kohima district) under the Head of Account ‘8782-Forest Remittance/Cash Remittance’. Details of forest produce (name of produce, quantity, volume etc) for which royalty has been paid should be submitted to the office of Divisional Forest Officer, Kohima along with a copy of treasury challan for booking in the cash account of the division. The DFO requested all the offices under Kohima district to deduct the Royalty on all forest produce used by their office.
