Former ADC to GOC awarded Assam Rifles’ Commendation Card

Dimapur, August 16 (MExN): Major (Dr) Mohommed Ali Shah (Retd) has been conferred the Director General Assam Rifles’ Commendation Card for his exemplary services in Northeast India. The award was conferred on Kargil Vijay Diwas by Lt Gen Pradeep C Nair who retired as the DG of Assam Rifles on July 31.

In a press note, Major Shah expressed that this is the “highest form of honour he could have ever imagined in his entire life.” Awarded an Honorary Doctorate earlier, Major Shah has been an International TEDx speaker, won best actor & best Defense Analyst awards. “However the Director General Assam Rifles Commendation Card awarded to me as a Veteran is the highest form of honour”, he stated while thanking the outgoing DG Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Pradeep Nair whole heartedly and welcoming Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera as the new DG Assam Rifles.

Major Shah was earlier posted as the ADC to Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah, then GOC Spear Corps Rangapahar and then later joined 26 Assam Rifles battalion in Kohima. He was also awarded a GOC -in - Chief's Commendation card on August 15, 2007 for exceptional devotion to duty.

Since completing his Short Service stint in the Indian Army, Major Shah continues “his attachment and love for the North East region” and motivating him to take keen interest in the culture, area, demography, topography, geography, history of the region.
