Former beauty queen to produce show on Assamese culture

New Delhi, May 11 (IANS) Former Miss Teen Northeast Mahika Sharma is set to produce a TV show focusing on Assamese fashion, food items, festivals and more.   "People have tried to explore Assam, but it's not been explored to the point that it should be. And I want to let the world know about it," the 21-year-old said in a statement.  

She believes that people, in general, get inspired by actors on TV shows. So, she wants to use the medium to popularise her state's culture.   "I am sure it will help mekhla chadar and Assamese fashion become more popular. Maybe, even a few Assamese words get famous and common among people," said the model-turned actress.
