Former Minister Nokzenketba passes away

Zeliang, Rio offer condolences

  Dimapur, January 5 (MExN): Former Minister and Member of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Nokzenketba passed away this morning. He was in his mid-sixties. The former Soil Conservation and, Art & Culture Minister has serve the State in various capacities since his first election to NLA from Koridang A/C in 1982 as an independent candidate.   Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Nagaland, TR Zeliang has expressed his grief to learn about the sudden demise of Late Nokzenketba.   In his condolences message, Zeliang described the former minister “as a straightforward, honest and dedicated leader of the masses.”   Late Nokzenketba was fearless who never swerved away from his convictions and a true man of his word who stood steadfast not only in his political convictions and determination to serve the people, the CM added.   Deeply regretting Late Nokzenketba demise, Zeliang along with his wife and children extended their heartfelt condolences bereaved his family in their hour of sorrow.   “We pray to the Almighty to grant you solace and strength to tide over the tragic death of your dear husband and father of the children,” Zeliang stated addressing to his condolences to the wife of the decease, Dr Chubayangla, the Principal of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.   “May the departed soul rest in eternal peace.”   The present State’s representative to the Parliament, Neiphiu Rio also expressed his deep pain to hear about the demise of the former minister.   Late Noksenkaba dedicated his life to the service of the people and was always committed towards the welfare of the weaker section, the former Chief Minister of Nagaland stated in a condolence note received here adding that the State has lost a seasoned leader and the vacuum created by his demise would be difficult to fill.   “I extend my deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family and pray to Almighty god to let the departed soul rest in peace” the MP further condoled.
